PERISCOPE launches Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) “Tools and Practices for Addressing Pandemic Challenges” on the e-learning platform Coursera
The PERISCOPE Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) draws lessons from the COVID-19 pandemic and proposes ways forward for better crisis preparedness and response. It will be officially launched on Coursera next week, on the 23rd of January 2023.
The PERISCOPE consortium developed five online courses that collect policy solutions suggested in other PERISCOPE clusters:
-
“Reaching Vulnerable Groups through Pandemic Policy”, developed by the Ghent University and the London School of Economics.
-
“One Health: pandemic preparedness, prevention, and response”, produced by the Karolinska Institutet and the Federation of European Academies of Medicine (FEAM).
-
“Strengthening territorial response for better health”, realised by the European Regional and Local Health Authorities (EUREGHA), Mental Health Europe (MHE), and Agència de Qualitat i Avaluació Sanitàries de Catalunya (AQuAS).
-
“Data science perspectives on pandemics management”, resulted from the collaboration between the Politecnico of Milano (POLIMI), University of Pavia, ISI Foundation, and the Delft University of Technology.
-
“Trustworthy Artificial Intelligence for Healthcare Management”, created by the Goethe University Frankfurt.
Ahead of the publication, the courses were tested by health authorities and other public bodies. To attend the MOOCs, it is necessary to create a Coursera account. The courses have free access, but it is possible to earn a completion certificate for a fee.
Together with the publication of the courses, a dissemination campaign will kick off next week through PERISCOPE communication channels. Over five weeks, the partners who developed the course will have the chance to introduce their work through a series of teasers.
